As Thespians, we value and cherish our relationships built with one another within the community. In November 2015 we lost a very dear friend and member of the Thespian family to suicide.  As a member of the cast & tech crew, Ellie Leiken lit up our stage as well as our hearts with her electric smile and personality. In response to her passing, Ellie's parents were inspired to found Ellie's Bus, a charity dedicated to taking the mystery out of depression and other mental illnesses. As they drive the classic, bright orange Volkswagon Scooby Doo Mystery Bus to various concerts and festivals, their mission is to take the stigma out of mental illness and allow kids and adults to seek the medical attention needed to save the lives of many struggling with suicidal thoughts. We are honored to have the opportunity to support a charity so close to our hearts as well as the hearts of others in the Severna Park community.

We look forward to helping to raise awareness for this important issue and for your support in this mission. For more details on Ellie's Bus, please visit

Last year the Thespians raised over $3500 for CCTArts!  Thank you for your support!

Every year the organization chooses a nonprofit charity to support throughout the year through fundraising and collections at performances.  The 2016-2017 Thespians will support Ellie's Bus.

Students can become a member of the Thespian Troupe by earning points through participation in stage events in middle school, high school and community theater.  Please see the Thespian Points Outline for point credit for various types of events.

Once a students earns 10 points, they may apply for induction into the SPHS Thespian Troupe #2476.  Students are then required to attend monthly meetings to maintain membership in good standing.  Monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of each month from September through June.  Formal inductions are held at the end of each school year.  Senior cords are distributed at this event.

SPHS Thespian Troupe #2476 is a part of the International Thespian Society (ITS) which is an honorary drama organization for high-school theatre students.  The mission of the ITS is to honor student excellence in the theatre arts.
